| Municipal Bonds |
Eric Todd Johnson has acted as bond counsel on hundreds of
public projects for essentially all types of public entities,
such as cities, counties, school districts, interlocal agencies,
special districts, municipal building authorities, etc. He has
helped issue all types of municipal bonds including
water revenue bonds, tax increment revenue bonds, general
obligation bonds, sales tax revenue bonds, sewer revenue bonds,
industrial revenue bonds, electric revenue bonds, special
assessment bonds, lease revenue bonds through municipal building
authorities, certificates of participation, and more. Mr.
Johnson practiced with a large national firm in its Salt Lake
City office for a number of years. In response to his clients'
concerns over the high national rates charged by national firms,
Mr. Johnson joined Smith|Hartvigsen, where he continues to
provide top quality bond counsel services at legal rates more in
line with local attorney fees.
Mr. Johnson has helped
communities raise hundreds of millions of dollars for public
projects. His projects in 2004, among others, include: (1) a
$10,734,000 sales tax revenue bond for South Ogden City for a
new city complex, (2) a $396,000 water revenue bond and a
$1,080,000 water revenue bond for the Johnson Water District in
Roosevelt for two new water tanks, (3) a $6,400,000 general
obligation bond for the Town of Brian Head for recreation
improvements and to refinance outstanding bonds, (4) an
industrial revenue bond and a separate special assessment bond
each for Box Elder County, and (5) a $1,000,000 lease revenue
bond through the Uintah County Municipal Building Authority. As
this list indicates, Mr. Johnson is bond counsel on projects
large and small from the most sophisticated to the commonplace.
He is also a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers
and is listed as nationally recognized bond counsel.
